Carmen is a multigenre writer and reader, educator and editor, and lifelong learner. She begged her mom to teach her to read at age 4 and hasn’t stopped devouring books since.
She is currently revising her first novel, a Gothic horror influenced by real US history that explores identity, belonging, motherhood, and mental illness. She is also an Editorial Arts Academy-trained developmental editor of fiction, an Author Accelerator book coach-in-training, and brings years of experience as a teacher to her editorial and coaching services.
Carmen has lived in 18 places in 34 years and is now based in Germany with her husband and son. She holds graduate degrees in history and in education, and she loves hiking, photography, and discovering new coffee shops.
